Sculpture/painting combination

Ok had the idea for this type of mixed work towards the end of last year with a view to trying it out this year. So this is my first piece of hopefully more to come.
The adult hand is to be painted in greyscale and the babies hand sculpted on top in Das clay. I'll try and do a sort of step by step too as I go along.

Pic 01 - sketch out of the design on a piece of alupanel then taped a sheet of clear film over it ready to start the sculpture.

Pic 02 - started to build up the basic shape of the fingers

This is fantastic !!! I did something similar a million years ago at Uni - except I used plaster of paris it was ridiculously heavy to hang :-) great progress so far !!!!

Thanks Kim, really enjoying this and hope there's many more to come.
Pretty much done the background painting on this now, patiently waiting for the sculpture to dry out properly so I can get that painted. It's gonna have another special difference as well as being a sculpture....if that makes sense.
