I cleared the tins for my bike and I used House Of Kolor UC-35, Medium reducer RU-311 and KU-150 hardener. I have two tech sheets for HOK clear. One says 12 to 24 hours and the newer one says wait 24 hours. I sprayed two light coats so the pinstriping wouldn't slide and then I sprayed two wet coats. At 14 hours I removed the masking and the clear is still soft cuz I had no problems with it cracking when I removed the tape. I know its going to be soft for awhile to release solvents but how soon can I start sanding? I do have a little orange peal here and there and some dust nibs. The temp in the booth is 80 degrees.

Harley, I,m not familiar withppg, these days. & a lot of people will say sand as soon as possible, But I allways wait 24 to 48 hours. As long as You dont have a lot of crap or orange peal. thats what I would suggest. Of coarse it depends on temps, & reducers or hardners You used.
If it layed down perty nice I also wouldn,t start with to aggressive of sandpaper. No coarser than 1500, then 2000. and it will take less buffing. Hope this helps a lil. Good luck .Cowboy

well one time i used the ru311 it was a little tad slow for my perference, cause a little more orange peel than i liked it to be.. i waited 24 hrs n hit it with 600 onto 800 grit n resprayed it using 310 fast reducer.. hince added the 2 extra ounces. and it flowed perfect like glass.. dried pretty good to where u could easily sand it around 12-14 hours.. i'd give it 14 hours, hit it around with 1000 grit n go on with 2000 grit.. some just uses 2000 only but i obselete the 1500 stage, to me its just useless but EVERYbody has their own way of doing things. like most wouldn't cut orange peel with 600 grit, BUT, i knew what i was doing .. im not afraid of anything.. so u dont have hardly none, i'd wait 14-16 hours sinc e u'd used 311 reducer. for some odd reason 311 dont agree with me as well as i love using the 310 reducer.. it was around ur temp. but i live higher elevation also. i bet down south louisiana i'd prob have ot use the 311 over the 310..
anyways i'd wait around 14-16 hours or if you felt safer wait around 24 and wet sand with 2000 grit with SOAP. make sure u wipe it off as you go or rinse it instead of leavin it on since its a fresh sprayed clear.
i did my car but i hadn't even cut it yet.. its been october since i sprayed it.. some says do it right away.. im like whatever, i wasn't gettin out there in the snow cuttin n buffing. but come in a couple weeks i'll do it.. u can cutt n buff whenever But some likes to do it right after while its somewhat easier to cut it but i had no o ption to do that in winter time had hit to quick for that.
u do know not to apply waxes on it afterwards for about what a month to two months.. something like that..
watch the buffer speeds and mask off the edges so it wont catch it.. and good luck..
