Hi everybody!

I was reading older posts, but i still have a lot of questions. I'm thinking of starting an airbrush tattoo business in the all inclusive resort in the Caribbean. So I have many questions related to the specific conditions and posible problems I would be dealing with. At the beginning I would be using only black color and only with stencils. The environment is hot and humide. People would be swimming in the sea and the pool with the tattoo.

My questions are:

1. What type of compressor (brand, model) should I buy? I need something that is reliable, as quiet as posible, and not too expensive. Would any of the starter kits from Amazon do the job?

2. What type of paint should I use (water or alcohol based), given the conditions? And how long I can hope my tattoos would last? And what brand would be the best in my case?

3. How long it takes for it to dry? And how long after the paint is applied, client can go in the water?

4. Can they put the sunscreen on the tattoo?

5. Are there any allergic reactions to this paint?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you guys for doing this and helping us (newbies).

Just one airbrush wont cut it.You really need more than one airbrush if you want to make money
1;Buy the best compressor you can afford. You will need at least a 1/8 hp, one where the airbrush is the on off switch is a good start.
2;Alcohol is the only way to go with tatts.everyone has their favorites.I use Badgers Totally Tattoo
3;Give them a minute and there off to the water.
4;NO
5;None

Neil, thank you so much for your answer.
So, I was thinking about Paasche TC 20T compressor that comes with Paasche MILLENNIUM Double-Action Airbrush. Is that any good?

You say I need more than one airbrush. If my first choice is ok, what type should the other one be? And how quiet this compressor really is?
How long tattoo can last if the client goes to the water several times a day?

The Paasche Millennium is a great airbrush, i would use the same airbrush for all my brushes. You only have to carry parts for one airbrush this way.As for going into the water i would not promise anything as there are to many variables involved.

Alcoholic paint dries quickly.

Must be at least two guns. (Reserve!)
If one gun fails, you can not work.
