OK, am brave, too much time on my hands, and or stupid..
Went to a body shop I know today and asked him if he had an old hood that he had tossed out that wasnt TOO badly bent.. We went to the scrap heap and I came home with a Ford Tarus hood in dark metallic red, has a few small dents.. nothing major.. swung by the car wash and found out its REALLY waxed well, but, I got a nice big disposable piece to go try everything that has been mentioned on her out for real, without wasting a real car...

THe price? free....
IF the weather gets above FREEZING this weekend will dewax it outside..

yes.. I have a picture of a 3 Musketeer type person, that is a locksmith, feather in the hat and all.. keys and picks on the belt..thats the center piece, then might do some type of flame in the sky for a background..

hoods are great! I use an old vw nose (the front is not called a hood ) and it has been sanded down so many times , I lost count! lol

make sure you de wax that hood really well! red paint does require more frequent waxing than most other colors~
have fun!
