Okay friends, fellow artists, budding art patrons, beatniks, innocent bystanders, pros and cons, newbs and experts, the door is unlocked for the weekend, the lights are turned on, lets see what this weekend brings us. The past few weeks have been a visual feast, many styles and diverse works, all of which are just a blast to see and share. We have many new members, so if you see a nice piece of work posted elsewhere, ask the artist to repost in here if you could please. It would not be the same to just move posts in here, the artist needs to do it, so encourage everyone to make it bigger and better. Thanks, looking forward to the feast, and we'll see you in here on the weekend!!:)

Gordon, congrats on the award, it is well deserved! This is a super piece!

Good luck on the oil removal, what a bummer. Any chance of absorbing it up drop by drop with tissue, or a cotton swab?

I look forward to all your work Gordon! Repairs & shit going wrong was on my top 10 list of things I hate about airbrushing. I had problems with my liquid frisk not being able to be removed, so I had to get some rubber cement thinner to rub it off! I wound up working with textured gells for the airbrush, and it turned out to be an extra cool idea for the stone effect. A "Happy Accident" if you will. Goodluck on the outcome Gordon!

Been busy with spring time stuff around the house. The only thing I painted this week was mini-blinds for my daughters bedroom - some kind of a bright yellow/green color. I'm just glad I don't have to look at them all the time.

Great work so far, all, thanks so much, each is a treat to see... I wish there were more, but I am clearcoating right now, and haven't had time to nag folks. Be back soon with my crappy little sign and nag some folks, lol.....

Well I've still got time, in between looking at a new house and looking at a new car I managed a couple of hours on my Zakk Wylde painting. Still loads to do but I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry about the pic, it was a bit rushed, my Pizza was getting cold!

That is coming along just beautifuly!! Great work on the hair by the way.

Luc that guitar looks ace, how do you find painting on the neck? I hated it, masking it off was the worst part.

Thank you Gordon,

Painting on the neck wasnt so bad...this is my first so maybe my opinion will change on this! Working out the hair was something that bothered me. My wife walked in lookied at it and said ''why not add some weird color to the hair like purple''? Glad I did, her hair looked almost too grey before.

Tried that when it first happened but all it did was leave a shiny spot, main concern is that paint doesn't take to it. Like the old oil and water scenario.

talcum powder? soak it up?

Figured I better get this in here... This is done on that same Triumph I did the flag/logo on....customer came back and asked for Betty Boop on the fairings. The other side is the same, just mirrored. Approximately, oh, 7" tall.

Nice Betty there Lynne, liking it a lot. Or is that Beatrice Boop, Union Jack and all, lol.

Here is my Sunday piece and no, its not even close to art, but is a little sign done for our friends who leave on an extended journey in their RV rig next weekend. They will travel with dog, cat and bird along, thus the critters. Done cartoony on purpose, and a few musical notes, since they are musicians... picture is not good, the green is pearl and really shines in the sun, sun is not out....my shadow in the clearcoat makes it look like tone isn't even, but really it is....

Second one is an oldy, kickin around the shop for awhile, finally cleared it. For Denise, this is right out of my head, no sketch, no reference, just my memory, lol, I'm afraid it shows, but that's ok. Gotta get more practice time......:)

Great work by all once again . I wasn,t gonna post but. BD Them flames are fantastic, I,m assuming the trees in the background are reflections. But really make it look like the campfire type setting I had last night cooking Brats. I think I even seen the skull. lol . Ya got Me thinkin now. Great job to all.

Lol, yep Cowboy, the clear had just set enough to take into the driveway and shoot a pic.

Thanks folks for another great show. I am a little bit disappointed in the quantity of entries, but certainly not the quality.

Thanks so much to all of you who posted and support the Art Show.

Special thanks to Gordon, Karinne, Luc, Denise, Lynne, Sharon, and Jason for posting their works. I know we all come to enjoy viewing artworks no matter whether a newbie or a pro, whether its rough early stuff or polished professional.

I ask you all to take a minute and support the Forum by posting what work you are doing, a sketch, a test, whatever you might be doing. Surely, out of 1200 or so members, we can get more than 8 or 9 entries, right?

Look forward to seeing you all next week, and thanks again for supporting the Art & Kustom Show!
