Looking for another AB.. Using a pair of Badger 175 Cresendos, and have NO problems to speak of, other than a 'real fine line'.. I can get close to a 1/16" width with Auto Air, but am wanting something thats made for finer..
I got 2 problems..
1. I got Dysgraphia.. Its a (long short description) muscle control problem.. to make it simple, I CANNOT WRITE ledgible. Doctors scribbling is good compared to mine..SO I will NEVER be what some of you are, a 'fine' fine artist.. I live with that.. (one of the side effects tho, can be a high mechanical aptitude-very odd, but in my case, applies) I failed printing in first grade and it only got worse.
2 I do not EVER expect to 'make a living' doing AB work.. its just a hobby of sorts.. so I do NOT necessarily need the 'Rolls Royce' of air brush for this..it wont happen due to 1. above.. I need and will be happy with an 'ok' version.
I am looking at a Badger 100 LG, with 1/3 oz fluid cup, as a reasonable economical one to buy? under $70 at Dixie Art.
I dont meed the Micron, which seems to be the other recommended-priced at something in the $160 range..
comments anyone?
I WILL be using, Auto Air, AFAIK thru this only..Too
Thanks for info.

If you like Badger then go for it. I have 2 Iwatas HP BC and I can't see that much difference between them and my Thayer & Chandler. I'm not as proficient as most of these people so maybe me? Good Luck!
The internal workings of the LG are different than the cresendo,,,
the LG is a precision instrument on the order of better brushes !!!
Finer paint mixes are going to apply,, as the smaller orifice (tip)
can get clogged easily with heavy paint the cresendo works with !!!
If your looking for a gravity feed on the order of the cresendo but
capable of finer work,,, might consider the Omni (TC/Badger) 4000 !!
It has simular internals with tip/needle (cone) instead of the sensitive
workings of the LG but is in the same price range !!!
The LG is actually better suited for illustration than,, say,, T-shirts !!!
It really depends on what you plan on doing,, and what paints !!!
Good Luck in your decision on this !!!

Thanks for the info.. problem is the 4000 is currently not available, according to Dixie Art.
What about the 3000B? or the 6000? I dont have problems with the paint feed source, as long as it can handle AA paints.? comments?
and Redanner you are probably far better than I will EVER be capable of..with a tool of any kind, it comes down to the individual.. some LOVE certain ones, others have NO luck with the same.,.

I have an omni matrix, it's gravity feed and suction feed in one.In the catalog my hubby got it from (at his work) listed it as a nail brush too. Seems to be very versital for me so far. I've done posters with a large spray pattern and yet can get a fine line (when I'm steady enough) just by removing the tip cone.
I use solvent paints so I'm not sure how it would be with AA's.
I have badger 150's, used for years. The price he pd was $85, though I have seen them in other suppliers for a bit less. And everything from the badgers will fit, airline and bottles.
Just another to think about~

I got a staff infection from that still maybe laying dorment on the joint. Something strange happened during that time my legs started hurting and feeling numb at the same time. Got 2 compressed discs in my back. I can not work! They will only treat my back with pain killers because of the maybe staff and my diabetes. I take this medicatioon every day.
