Hi Everyone,

Hey, have you ever sketched out a design on paper, then cut the paper drawing into pieces to use as a stencil for a project? Whats that? You have? Well then you no doubt have encountered the dreaded "under spray" phenomenon. it is a real pet peave of mine. Especially around insides of curved shapes or multiple curves and you just don't have enough fingers to hold each part down tight to the surface and the paint drifts under in certain spots and you have to go in after and touch it up!! Frustrating!

Well i was looking through an older issue of ABA the other day, and I came across a step by step by Javier Soto, and he shows a picture of a paper stencil that he has cut tiny holes all around close to his drawing, then uses masking tape over the holes, and tapes it down to the surface and it stays pretty well flush with the surface. I thought this was pretty freakin' cool, so i tried it out on the latest panel. (ya, ya dont get me goin' on panels!!)

Anyhow, it works like a hot damn! USE THIS IDEA!! (if you didin't already know it) cause it's a good one. Later,

MOB

hey man, that's a great technique, i use it almost on every project, you can also use magnets if you're working on metal, once i learned that trick, it saved me so much headache

repositionable adhesive works really well too. At least on shirts, I don't know about other stuff, but I wouldn't think it's bad.

Thats a great idea!! Thanks for sharing! I have used rubber cement in the past but that dosen't work well if you are shooting anything thats not water base.
