tail gate i did three years ago.we had a deal.cut an remove tree in trade for tailgate airbrushed.i think it is a good deal.the cost of removing a tree was $2000.00 .i made up some photoshoped
concepts for the lumber jack.an we agreed on this on.

he wanted the plain white letters.he likes it simple.

i used a free weight bar bell stand by Weider fitness as a weasle.the tail gate is kinda heavy.this work out great.

washed an wiped wax an degrease.tape any parts not getting paint.
wet sand to get rid of the gloss.it gives the auto air some thing to grab.wash again.

after applying the vinyl stencil i pull out the letters.

using opaque white auto air in lite coats an heat setting with a hair drier.

adding blue transparent in lite coats an heat setting between colors
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c373/pdloran/stumpys/stumpys10.jpg
airbrushing orange an yellow transparent auto air.none of paints i used were thinned
down.i sprayed auto air straight out of the bottle.i used an iwata gravity fed airbrush.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c373/pdloran/stumpys/stumpys13.jpg
airbrushing transparent red.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c373/pdloran/stumpys/stumpys15.jpg
airbrushing blues an purples for the shadows.im not using black for the shadow.i
think that will make it look to dark an distracting.

airbrushing done its off to the clear coat.i took it to a pro for the clear coat.im airbrushing in the basement.i cant clear coat it there.

I think it looks pretty good. Not a lot of tediuos details but I think if you had, it wouldve really taken the over all pic down some. Most people will see it moving down the rd, and their mind will fill in the rest.
I like it!

Goes to show that there still may be a niche for commercial airbrush applications out there to discover. Nice work.
