Being corrigated metal is what made this much tougher than normal . Plus complete prep, prime, sand & base with white. All with uros, From there all waterbase ( sherwin Williams ) Including the clearcoat. 4 gallons of SW DTM , A very rubbery stuff that turns rock hard ( Thanks Airhead for the tips ), reduced with water, goes on milky then clears when dry . & trust Me I was nervous about that. took 24 hours to clear up.
182 hours for the art only . I aint even sure how long for prep, All done outside with lights. after hours & really had to fight the weather . 37 critters in it & the top is also done with seaplanes allthough I have no pics of that. We aquired the job after They seen the full mural on Our building. Thanks for looking .

I love how you played off of the corregated side of the bus with the waterfall! This is beautiful! Who is this for?

I've been asked to paint on an old school bus that has corregated sides very simular to what you've painted here only this bus is a shorty....bout a third as long as the one you painted here. So I have a couple of questions.....first off how much was airbrush and how much was paintbrush or sponge work or ?? And my biggest problem....pricing something like this....did you price by the square foot or what? I haven't got a clue how to quote this job. Nor do I have any idea how long it'll take me. Any advice you could offer would be very helpful. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Karrine, It was a group of people that are in the Party bus together , & Their all jimmy Buffet fans & thats the theme They wanted. I forgot to mention. This was a total team effort between the wife & I & We threw everything at it We had, Ab,s , hairy brushes, sponges .
Now for the Really tough part Our shop was in Where the homeless, gang bangers, & a prison work release center , were All right there. In the middle of the night, Some allways wanting to visit or watch . Needless to say We both carryed guns In plain view, Also The police also stopped in Quite frequently to see the progress & check on Us. Quite the interesting work envirement.

Hey Fx, Like I said befor You asked these questions. We used what ever it took. Each area used Ab, & brush, others just detail guns & sponge work, & We jumped around from one stage to the next, Following each other & topping of the others work. Nothing was planned out.
As far as price, it depends on if its prepped properly before You get it or not. This was Priced as filler work, Rust repair & Prep at 25 bucks an hour, artwork, & base work at 45 dollars an hour. I hope this helps some. Btw, They payed up front for all materials.

:rotflmao: It sounds like where I live! My new neighbors are a bunch of tweakers, so there is a constant flow of traffic, and they always stop by to tweak on me working. After I chased a homeless junkie living in our laundry room away, the cops suggested I keep my dogs real close to me. The tweakers stop and say, "Oh, so your the airbrush artist", so now they all know I have equipment  I let them all know that I am in recovery, and work in the jails, but they are so lost in their addiction, they don't care. We now have the neighbors other homeless friend living behind our townhouse. I just sing how I hate tweakers, and tell my dogs nice and loud that we are saving money on dogfood, because mommy is going to feed them tweakers for dinner! My lease is up this month, so after finals this week, I am house hunting, and hopefully get a yard. My brother (6'4") came over a glared at the tweakers. I told the cops to please drive by more the other day, although they are here every other day for the neighbors....
....I got my new puppy partly because the tweakers said that they could take on my Bjorn because he was old. Why would you say such a thing????
Sorry about the hijack, but it appears you had the same issue when you painted your bus.

I am too afraid of guns. I figure my babies have really good ears, eyes, brains, and teeth! Plus they are my best friends. We are allowed to have firearms, as long as you are licenced, and have a permit for a concealed weapon, that is all. I love cops today, plus most of them are pretty fine :wink2:
I agree with Jason, bring on some more eye candy! I am so glad you got a scanner too. Remember to back up your files on a CD, Memory Stick, or another hard drive. What if a tornado blew away your home, and you were smart and lucky enough to get your back up files!
