nice helmet lynne, you're work is always very clean and sharp.....
well here's my buddy Eric's truck (his parts runner). Drew it on with a stabilo from a stencil i made and proceeded to hand paint away.......still have to age it with lacquer thinner to make it look 30 years old, but i'm letting the paint get real hard first, also here's a pic of the gas tank for Godspeed Maui's tbucket, the red is a big flake but it was cloudy when i took the shot

I hate helmets too D...I really do, hence Ron's comment in chat last night - he does love to rub it in. Hey, I wouldn't mind if it was one image all over the damn thing, but no...they want this and that...tiny shit. Gak is right. This one though, was really easy....with the exception of the mazda logo, had to draw that one up by hand as I don't know Corel Draw enough to morph it into the right curvature to compensate for the compound curvature of the helmet.
Jason, fab, as usual... you make everything look so damn easy. What's this about antiquing it? With? 'Splain, Lucy. Us struggling newbies wanna know.

well the idea is to make it look like it was hand painted when the truck was spankin new, so I let the enamel get real hard and a few days later come back and rub it incosistantly with some thinner to make it look old n worn and transparent in spots. It's best to brush paint (like they did in the day....right Whit) the enamel so you will be able to see the brush strokes were the thinner areas will wear through first, looks cool when done right, i'll make sure to post the pics of the after

You striped that?
Now it's my turn to day I'm not worthy...damn Jason, what don't you do?
I'm anxious to see how it looks...seems the "rat rod" look is popular all over. I was gonna paint this pair of twin tanks someone gave me in rust and chrome lettering...keep in mind here, I work waterbased. Ought to be fun though, splattering paint around.

Too cool! No wonder why I love your art's context! I never knew that about the stone of Thor's hammer either. I will pass that along since my brother's wolf dog's name is Thor, and my brother has a tattoo of Thor's hammer. Thanks Denise!
