Steven or Prouty would know, I know they've both painted something like this before...at the very least a surf board... hang tight and i'm sure they'll give some input.
I wonder if you could call a marine supply? or a boat yard, find someone and pick their brain?
I've seen kids using those at the beach in NC...looks like fun.

I did something like a surfboard..(but maybe not)...That's the prob..I don't know what the hell it was made of...It was like a giant surfboard..like 40lbs and 12' long..Had the holes in the center where ya screwed in a sail...Sooo it was whatever those things are called..Surfboard with a sail, haha..

Anyway had this plastic shell kinda thing on the surface...I had to do bodywork to it, to get it leveled and smooth..Then painted it with all Uro's...Cleared and buffed just like ya would a car/helmet with Uro's...hope that might help??:)

I like the way you think:thumbsup:.."All else fails, Just do er up"...Can't do no more than screw it up.,right?? hahaha!....Lookin good so far though..I'd say it's coming along swimmingly .LOL.

Did you prime it? Is this gonna be used after it's all spiffed up? Just curious, The one I did was hung on a wall after..I'd like to know how the paint handles being abused..Hahaha

When you get done take a couple of coats of Resin over the board.. the sand and wax will kill any other process.. just pour some resin over it.. let it dry and do the underside. good amount of work but it will be worth it... I don't know what paint you are using...so try a small piece of wood with the airbrush paint you are using...

the paint i am using is the createx air brush paint... i have not gone up to the auto air or other paints that cost more for the reason of my work is not all that great and i still need more practice... till i fill that i am doing better... with shadeing and fine lines ( after my #$%^ up mixed the inside tips on my airbrush)anyways..

i bought this clear called paint sharp from dupli-color http://www.dupli-color.com/products/paintshop.html. ready to spray lacquer no mixing just spray. has anyone used this... also i noticed that spraying clear is tricky or i dont know what i am doing.. came out not smooth at all... looked a little rough... can some one tell me how to fix this... i was using a small spray gun. thanks
