I have a heavy duty guitar case that I wanted to put some paint on. I just didnt know what kind of paint to use so it'll be chip resistant. Any ideas? I have Createx and Golden paints at the moment. Some wear wont be a problem, because its a guitar case, its suppose to show some wear and tear hahaha.

I would prime it with Krylon FUSION.
then Auto Air in whatever design I wanted, then a rattle can clear coat. Krylon also has a rattle can of UV Clear, if one looks far enough.
Others may say you can do it a different way.
What Shiva Said !!!
Good Luck on it !!!
Post your finals !!!

Curious.....before you prime it Shiva, do you think it is required to scuff the plastic first or does the primer have some sort of bonding agent so it won't flake off?
I kind of want to do the same thing but with a textured plastic.

I would prime it with an adheasion promotor for plastic.

I just sprayed with the satin black the front bumper of my car, its textured..
the big thing is its CLEAN.
if, and not seeing the plastic, it was really slick, then I would consider some 400 maybe, wet or dry, to GENTLY kill the shean.
Another thing is the auto paint supply houses has available an 'adhesion promoter' made for car bumpers. That might be useful as well.
Good post Static AB and thanks Shiva and Kruble for the info.

If you use the adhesion promoter for bumpers do not use the plasticlean that you would usually use to clean it before applying the adhesion promoter I did this and it brought up a whole bunch of crap off of the top of it and took me a couple of days of rubbing down with finalkleen to get the crap off!
Good luck hope to see it soon!!
