I have seen stencil burners and to me they look like soldering irons with a blade. Is this correct? I was wandering thru Micheal's tonight with my daughter (Daddy Daughter night and that is where she wanted to go) and saw a hot knife. Looked like a soldering iron with an exacto style blade. It was only $12 vs the $30 that I see the stencil burners listed. Is a setncil burner worth the hassle of is it just as easy to just use a standard blade?

Len, I am no help, I've never used one. I usually cut stencils out of acetate with a little tool called a swivel knife. It is like a mini-xacto on a ball bearing shaft, turns as you cut. I have two of them and am having trouble finding blades, I don't think they make them anymore.
Dog, you can get the blades at Michaels if one is close by. Seen them there and debated about getting one.
Moose, I am like you. I don't know anything about the burners.
