I am in the process of putting together my set up and was wondering if any double action airbrush would work?
I found some for $20, granted you get what you pay for but will this work?

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95810
or this
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95923

these would be only for tattoo's and maybe for my son to practice with as well.
Im tring to piece everything together on a budget with intentions to upgrade in the near future, I just want to get this thing rolling.

Thanks in advance for the help

thanks Whit, im just so eager to start.I have the local pop warner wanting me to do a fundraiser for one of the teams my brother happens to coach. I look at it this way a advertising opportunity and it will benefit the league at the same time. They are having a carnival this weekend but I doubt I will be ready, so i plan to get started in a few weeks.

I would spend more on airbrushes! I've heard bad things about those! Badger, Thayer & Chandler, Paasche, have reasonable priced nail & tattoo AB.

How many would you suggest having? I have a paasche currently would two more be good?
I can do color changes if needed but would have them set up with the primary colors???

That I can not tell ya! My opinion is you can never have enough! But that theory is not cost effective and requires a perfect world. I would consider how many colors you have and then how many would fit in the same category so as not to be constantly clean cups like red and red orange would be together! If this not good advise somebody else will correct it and maybe put you on the right path.

When I was lookin for info,,, we had a city thing going,,,
they paid for paints/stencils,,, we got $500 to show !!!
Just went with 1 color stuff for simplicity,,, just used two
brushes,, (1 for back-up) and black alchohol tat paint !!!
Information said wash with alch,, spray,, pat w/powder !!!
We ended up just slappin a stencil,, sprayin,, holler "NEXT'
but then,,, we were giving them away,, so lines formed quick !!!
Had folks a couple a days later asking how to get them off,,,
so they seemed to hold okay with little prep !!!
I just used an "Omni" Thayer/chandler (vega) bottle feed and
everything went fine !!!
Your gonna need the stencils tho,,, paint goes a long way so
allow for that !!!
Good Luck on it !!!
Here's where I got my materials,,,

the Pop warner colors are green and yellow and I already made a strencil of thir logo i coud possibly switch the black and green brush when needed.
I do have some stencils I am looking at getting from this site http://www.europeanbodyart.com/
another Q: is it bad to have a tip jar at an event you are doing as a fundraiser??

You are going to need colors to make money. I recamend 6 airbrushes to start, and the colors red, white, blue, yellow and black with either 1 color of your choosing or use the extra airbrush as a back up. Check Bear air or Dixie for prices on the Vega airbrushes.Airbrush bodyart has the best prices on both inks and stencils.

Rather than try the Olive Branch inks, save yourself the trouble and go to airbrushbodyart.com and try their products. I can guarantee you'll be happy with their inks and stencils.

The Peak airbrushes are sold by Bear air;airbrush dot com. I still say only buy your airbrushes from manufactors like Badger,Paasche,Iwata, etc not an off brand one.Oh yeah I own a Peak.

Last year we had 6 eclipses and they didn't work so good. They clogged easily. The Badger 155 works great for me. I ordered 6 packs of them at $45 each but no one had any in stock. Went through Coast Airbrush and they matched Bearair's price. I Use 9 airbrushes per side. A female in the booth definately has advantages with 15 year old girls not wanting some old long hair touching them and small children get a little scared. I was also going to try to do some face painting this year so I had 6 airbrushes set up to do that. That didn't fly so well. I even painted their hand to show them what it was and that it wouldn't hurt them in any way. I ended up using a brush. I'll have to get a picture of my set up and send it in. I used 1/2 PVC to make holders that I think work the best. I bought a bunch of holders from ABA but the airbrushes kept falling out of the holder. the PVC is cheap too yet. Last year with the set up we needed 10 hoses but I did it differently this year and the 6 footers worked fine. Not to go too far off the subject, but don't get the EZ UP econo tent. My broke the second time I used it. The next one up is a better tent. I think by the time I was all set up I had nearly $4500 worth of stuff. I also use a Plano 3300 tackle box to carry my airbrushes in. Works great.
