woo hooo...Coming to life now JC...WTG!!!!
For the hair, all I know is scratching for a way to knock it back...I've scratched out complete hair do's before...Trick, use sand paper like 220 grit...sand in the direction the hair lyes .(with the hair flow, No random back and forth sanding like normal)...Before ya know it, thousands of lil hairs all over...then start layering in colors Rinse and repeat!..hahaha
Good luck...Lookin good!!

JC, I think you are doing a sterling job mate.
This portrait stuff is tough for anyone, scares the crap out of me!
There are some important things you have achieved so far mate, firstly, you took the greatest and hardest step and that is to step WAY out of your comfort zone and attempt a portrait, secondly, you had the guts enough to share it with us!
Another point is you included you're wife, now that's dangerous, my wife would kill me!
Personally, I admire and applaud your work, if you can take the time to step back and see what we see, you should also be very happy with the results thus far.
well done mate.

Sorry JC, I aint no good at commenting on much of these kindof paintings. But The thing that keeps Me coming back to look at this, & Its All Very well done. But You,re wifes Right Eye , Left looking at the picture Other than Maybe a white speck in the lower left corner . Just draws Me back to looking again. . Like I said, I aint no wheres close ta bein Qualifyed saying whats right or wrong. BUT, If You can pull off that realistic detail IMO. Ya otta be able ta do the rest. To You & Her,s taste. I sure couldn,t . Besides we seen the Photos. So We Know she,s only got one cute Lil chin. Just hang in There , I think You have a Great start to a Very Nice & Valued Portrait For Yall,s keeping . Sorry for draggin it out. I Love it so far.

well, i will make an attempt whit my english and write some words ...
at first, it's a very nice work for a first portrait.
you have to make some darker (shadows) areas ... but your still in progress :-)
i think (for my taste) the shape is to hard ...
regards, doc.
