I'm having a *great* time wrecking my head trying to come up with a baby's skin tone, not a lot of luck,,,
I tried pinks, reds, sepias... u-nam-eet
Does anyone have a nice, proven formula/mix of colors?
Thanks!!! :violent-smiley-011:
Got a pic ?????
Personally I've found skin tones vary from here to there,,,
personally,,, I've got freckles (which adds 5 more colors)
but with a reff pic,, may have a clue,, but generic formulas
are gonna be iffy at best on this !!!
Good Luck on it !!!

Man, I could make a bad and distasteful joke here, but I wont! Get us a reference like whit said. You all know what I will say......Dru Blair's Color Buffer Theory! HAHAHAHAHHA
Sorry I'm not much on knowing formulas at all....I did paint a Baby once..But my version coulda been 8 shades off from yours..Who knows..A pic would be better like Whit said..someone can look at it and spot colors..I'm more of a guesser.. ..haha

Be Nice,, Now,,, Be Nice,,,
that's what the "Here to There" covered !!!
It's always best to see a pic,,, that way
you know how far or in between the
here to there you go,, or start from !!!
Even babies are indiduals,, and as a result,,
make the colors involved,,, individual !!!
Again,, Good Luck on it !!!
(a pic would really help tho)

Here goes...
Before you think pink here,,,
think a light brown,, thinned Way down with extender,,,
(based on createx) ruff the whole thing with the faint light brown
and start adding color from there,,, I'd reduce all the colors involved
and build very slowly,, that way corrections can be made easily and
caught before any serious damage is done !!!
The pinks would be along the last applications of color,, and not that
much at that,, very sparingly to say the least !!!
Stay away from the blacks,, a dark brown,, or even a purple with an
overlay of a golden yellow misted over the whole thing ,,,
Again,, Good Luck,, cute baby !!!

The baby looks to be oriental so think in shades of brown with red added around the mouth and in the cheeks. Use a note card with holes punched in it to give you a better sense of the individual colors for different areas. Use the space near the holes to do your color matching.

If you move to the opposite side of the color wheel (green) you will be able to dull down the saturation, and there are also green reflections that I see too. Whit is correct from what I see, lots of that thinned brownish hue, and at the tips of the nose, eyes, and brows pink!

Pay very close attention to what egneg wrote, you could also use a small cut out window with a blade.
