Here is the start of version 2.0 of my shirt design. Start of the antlers trying for a metal look. what do I need to add for a better metal look? I am thinking maybe some light blue shading and or maybe white.
Tim
p.s. Scott, you are right a 3/4 view I think will be much better.....

Tim, each time you post, its a little better, this is a LOT better. Just a little heavy handed on the shading... Back off a little and it will look very good. You have nice depth going on, shadow and highlight, just a wee bit muddy and dark?
No need for blue, unless you want reflective look, like chrome. Different approach, but might look cool. I suck at chrome and was going to post a request that one of the Kahunas, like Steven, or Jason Prouty, or Redhouse, put up a chrome how to.
Lookin Much Better !!!
Just a thought,,,,, why not darken the
background instead,,, to give a light
colored antler,,, less shading required !!!
Metal would be lighter anyway,, seems like !!!
Kinda run a wavy line thru the center (horiz)
and add a tad of blue (upper) and brown (lower)
to give more of a chrome or polished metal look !!!
Give the blue air (towards top) and brown close
to the irregular center wavy line !!!
Well,,, you know,, as long as you asked !!!

Here are two more in progress pics. For the t-shirters I got a couple questions. I still plan to try the lettering I want on the final shirt (This is just trial stuff on pellon). Would I putthe lettering on then add a background color or should I add the background color then the lettering. The top lettering I plan to try for a chrome style letter. The bottom will be the signature I use on my pinstriping.
Thanks

Tim, I really hope I'm not overstepping any bounds here and risk offending you, but you are getting so close, just look at your three tests and compare them! The last one is very close, and quite presentable! I have made a copy of your picture (#3) and put some comments on it. Please do not be offended, just suggestions that will help it "jump". Great improvement, I am very happy to see the remarkable forward progress.
Since you started with the horns (they look fine BTW, even a little lighter wouldn't hurt), move the head forward so the perspective is better, the left horn might be covered a little more by the head, so go lightly on the paint until all elements are in place. The right horn should be behind the eye. Add an ear and leave some highlights around the nostril and damn, man, the thing is startin' to light up! Well done, and this is proof positive to keep on pluggin'! The hair is 350% better, go daggers! See the shading you did under the chin and how effective this is? Just think of the same thing on highlights, around the nostrils will stick out most, maybe the tipes of the horns (antlers). Tim, sincerely, I am seeing such positive improvement, I just had to stick my nosy self in your paint! LOL!

Scott,
NO need to apologize! This is the exact reason I post here. The critiques are what are helping me move forward at such a fast pace( plus I really WANT IT)
I totally agree on the antler spacing I saw that as soon as I put the fur down. Ithink I f I had made it lighers in the antlers instead of the metal look it would not have stood out as much. Every suggestion will help me to make the final image just right when I finally get the guts to put paint to shirt!

Scott I went back and adjusted it per your suggestions ( see I do listen) and it is better proportioned. Kinda muddied the nose but it gives the idea... Now on to ver 3.0
