Hi Gen't and Ladies,
I have just started airbrushing, so it is brand new for me. I am trying to make the real flames but without much sucess.
I am in the proces to customize my good ol' Harley Ironhead MC.

I have a basic question, when I paint on black color or black paper, I can't get the red to be seen, the black absorbs the color no matter what kind of material that I am painting on.
Any magic suggenstions to that?

By the way, I have looked through the different treads in here, you guys and girls make great artworks.

Picture are from my first attempt to airbrush.

What kind of paint are you using to do your fire? If you are using the Schminke Aerocolors I see in your pic, I'm pretty sure they are transparent and you will have to start with an opaque color first, like white (or better yet-tint your opaque white with yellow or orange) before you spray your transparent red.

Yep.....i had the same problem (btw i'm from Holland to) I also use schminke and black absorbes my red too. It's nessacery to first coat the part you want to make red with a light colour like white so the black does'nt absorbs it....

Took me a while to get the hang of it too... Better to get other paint, it will work easyer too I'm pretty sure you got it at 'ab emmen' ??? Yeahh me too, but half what they say is $#@ (verkoop praatjes)

Grtzzzz man!!!

Try using the same recipe for real fire that the King of real fire teaches, Mike Lavalee...molly orange first, then kandy red intesifier (kk11) over top. This works great in every application I have seen. Then layer your lighter colors over top of that.
Nice to hear from you by the way, hope you have success in your real fire..it's a great tool to have in your airbrush box!
