This is the most recent paint work that I have done, finished about 2 weeks ago. it is a 2007 Cobalt SS, we added custom wheels, replaced a quarter panel, door, mirror, and side skirt and repaired the fender and front bumper cover. then airbrushed skulls and "loose" flames in black and covered with a HOK cobalt blue Kandy. 5 coats of clear and many hours of color sanding and buffing and she is as beautiful as a show car, and the owner is extremely happy.

Thats really nice! Tell me about how you fixed the damage! I was in the business until about 1989! Is the metal repairable for that amount of damage or did ya skin the panels and put new panels on? Or did ya just replace the complete door? Just wondering how things are done now and about technology!

thanks guys. as for the body repairs, i had to replace the entire door shell. the shell on the original door was too badly damaged to repair and re-skin. so i swapped all of the parts out of the interior. the quarter panel i also ordered a new skin and cut out the damaged area on the car and the new section of the skin. then i notched where the old skin was at and welded the new one in place, gave it a skim coat and primered, block sanded and sprayed with a nason single stage white...... scuffed the entire body and began airbrushing with black. we went a different route as far as "flames" and "fire" are concerned. I was told he wanted something similar, but different, and it definitely came out different than most peoples thoughts of flames and fire. it is a unique, 1 of a kind paint job and we have had lots of compliments on the transformation and final product.... I have only been doing body work now for about 6 years, and am mostly self taught. Maybe its just in my blood, lol
