i got a little "sprayit" compressor model # 600.2 it is 3 amp and a 60 cycle.
my question is.........if anyone has this model, does it work alright for an airbrush? and is the air pressure adjustable? and if so how?
i looked to see if the was a "how-to" on the maitenance of these little guys but nothing came up. i figured it was going to do what i needed but found out it's pretty weak........i hope it can be changed.
might be a dumb question, but i went to the "thomas industries" web-site and they don't offer anything.

That model doesn't look like it has the water trap with the pressure gauge. On the bottom of the moisture trap there's an adjustment screw or lever which allows the user to adjust the pressure.
If you have a Harbor Freight Tools in your area you may want to check them out. I bought my first diaphragm compressor there for around $40 (on sale) and it's still kickin' along. If you don't have a store near you you can order it online. Here's the one I have:

here is a couple pics of the compressor, i would have posted this sooner, but my camera batt. were dead. if i can get it to put more pressure out i will add the water trap, but if not, i'll get rid of it and but a good one.
i was the one to ut the fitting on the outlet, wonder if that makes any difference with the output pressure?
Hey Installer....Regardless of what that lil guy puts out..If you use it yer gonna want a moisture trap....Those things get hot quick!....Run one for a half hour straight and I've seen some even hard to touch....Heat= water = messed up paint job..hahaha!..That always sucks!
I dunno what it puts out for AP..My 1st one like that put out around 20psi....The second lil comp I had like that had 2 pistons and would push 100psi...Both got crazy hot and I never had a good enough Moisture trap.

i do plan to put a trap on it, but if it's not enough pressure then what?
i hooked it up to my brush and it pulsates like crazy, so i'm assuming it's not gonna work right. the pressure isn't consistant enough to work properly.
are these things adjustable somehow?

by the way......that harbour freight store........awesome. too bad i can't get it shipped to canada, that little compressor is sweet for 50 bucks.
I've never seen one adjustable.....Except on the Moisture trap, with a regulator built in....It builds pressure in the lil Cup that holds the filter...I think that will cure the pulsating....A longer hose may help too...Can't say how much help..But the hose holds a few extra psi..I figure the more air ya got sitting still under pressure..The less pulses yer gonna have..:D

I've also heard that the longer your hose is the less pulsing you'll get, so you might want to try that.

A longer hose may help
this did help! it seems it takes a couple seconds for the air to start flowing but once it's going it stays going.
thanks for the advice, oh and it's around 20 psi.........so my regulator says.
