the emblem shape is where the Kenworth logo is going to be mounted. It will look like the emblems' edges are on fire.
It's all done now, so I will post some completed pics soon.

Thanks again guys,
here are the finished pics. I apologize for the condition of the truck, it is being worked on in all these pics, so it hasn't been finished washed or prepped for driving, so it looks a bit rough still.
Customer must be happy, 'cause they have ordered another one to be done!! That will make 3 total, with another 3 to do as we have time! So this has turned out to be a pretty good endeavor!
As I get'em done I will post progress. Thanks everyone, and keep on sprayin'

Graphic design and pre press computer imaging, for a printing company. Worked there for 31 years and got up and walked out in Oct. So now I'm doing nothing. I do vinyl graphics on the side, my basement has a room that is all setup.

Hey Mob! I mostly bought the AB to fog vinyl graphics. Kind of the cheap way out instead of a $20.000 Roland printer. Have you ever AB'ed vinyl? does it work? Heres a van I just did thats a plain jane, thought the AB could have added some spark to the flames and fog the lettering.
Thanks Terry

Hey Terry,
We could have a whole section devoted to airbrushhing on vinyl, I do it ALL the time!
Vehicle graphics, lettering for semis, the possibilities are endless! I will dig up some sample pics of other vinyl jobs I've done where I have used airbrush as well and you can see what you think.
As far as that van pic you posted, ya, you could have added a drop shadow or some white hi-lites probably. If you still have the file you cut from, you could cut a paint mask of the flame shapes, lay it over them and then add a drop shadow right onto the vehicle itself, just lightly scuff around the flames with a grey scotchbrite, then let loose. Or reverse mask the flames, and give them a quick scuff with grey scotchbrite and throw down some simple white hi-lites or any other effect you want, go nuts!
If you ever need advice or have any to share about vinyl airbrushing, just lert me know!
Thanks alot,

Why paint on the black vinyl background and clear over just that. Will it acutally remove or last any longer and cause alot more trouble ?? looks fantastic just didn't make sense to me,

Hey Snuff,
Good question, painting it onto a layer of vinyl applied to the vehicle just saves money and work as far as not having to prep the entire vehicle, and clear the entire vehicle when done. For this application especially it made sense because they want 6 done in total, so they definately don't want to have to prep, sand, and clear coat 6 semi trucks...this would cost between $5,000 - $10,000 per truck to do all that work, (depending on the body shop and how busy they were at the time) not to mention the truck would have to be out of commision for weeks as opposed to a couple of days this way.
Anyways, that is why I decided to paint it onto a vinyl background and just clear the vinyl only.
Thanks for the question, keep 'em comin!
