editing old post

Is there a time out on editing old post or threads? I use to be able to edit my old threads to add a new photo or more text. But now I can't.

Seriously Zack....one thing I can think of to prevent you adding more pictures is the file limit size per post.....The limit total for .jpg pictures is 585 K per post....
When you edit a post, click the "go advanced" button, scroll down the new screen, look at your attachments and check or add up totals to see how near the 585K limit you are....
If it's borderline, you'll have to make another post to add more pics....
You should be able to edit text in a post without problems even if your picture file limit is full.....

I would, but the edit button disappears after awhile. I go back to a old post and it's not there anymore.

First let me respond by saying that yes, the board was changed to limit editing to one hour after the original post.

Let me also add that this was nothing personal against anybody.

It was done because some people have chosen to use this forum to further their interests by modifying their posts after the fact to create a more sympathetic response to the follow up posts. It creates confusion when the original post is extensively modified after several follow up posts have been made.

This is easily changeable. But should it be changed? it's easy enough to add another post. It's hard to qualm the confusion when a post gets changed from it's original context.

If this is unacceptable, feel free to let us know. Denise can easily change this back as easily as I can.

It's all a work in process. My approach isn't perfect. I do what works for the board, and I learn along with the rest of you.

An hour is long enough to notice you said something stupid. If you haven't figured it out in an hour, PM somebody on staff and we'll edit it for you.
