Hi all - just signed up after receiving the invite email from Steven. I'm based in the North of England and am just in the process of building up my business after going full time in 2004. I have a lot to learn, especially about the prep and finishing side of things so I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions on here. I'm always highly impressed by the levels achieved by artists in the States so I'm really looking forward to conversing with some of you.

I've put an example of my work below but there's plenty more on my site at www.granthood.co.uk (http://www.granthood.co.uk). Look forward to talking to you all soon.

Cheers for now - Grant http://www.granthood.co.uk/graphics/photos/cruisers/victory_thunder_child/tank_2.jpg

Thanks for your replies. I'm busy with a Jetski at the moment which I really want to get finished and out of the workshop. I don't normally take on jobs of this size - it's a 3 seater and more-or-less a boat!! I want to go back to motorcycle panels - they're a lot easier to handle :(

Hi Moose - I'm about 150 miles away from Wolverhampton. Quite far in UK terms but just round the corner if you're from the States/Canada.

I'll have a quick look through the forums and then get back to work.

Bye for now...

Grant

Well, if I don't get it finished soon you might get some pictures of me being chased round my workshop by its angry owner wanting to know why his pride and joy isn't ready for him to whisk off to Greece...

I'm just wet-flatting the lacquer at the moment, then I've the front cowl to finish the flag on and I can clearcoat that as well, then the masking can come off and I can start rebuilding it.

Thanks Clem... I'll be glad to share what I know (or think I know...), but I have a lot to learn myself, especially about the candy and finishing side of things.

Thanks all for the very friendly welcome. Sorry if I've not responded directly to your message, too many to do that, so this post is just to say a thankyou to all and I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and experiences with you all.

Kind regards

Grant
