This also applies to other masking, where there is a concern for paint bleed under tape edges.
Paints and reducer can break the glue edge of masking material and bleed under creating a rough edge when the tapes are removed.
A trick to help avoid this is to spray a quick seam of clear coat (or interclear) along the tape edge.
If the clear bleeds under, you won't see it.
But the clear fills the tape edge gap and stops paint (or colour) from bleeding under.

Another safety measure with taping or masking, is to carefully run a sharp knife blade along the edge of masking to cut the "bridge" of paint between the surface and the tape. If there is any adhesion problem or major build up of paint, you can pull paint when removing the masking. Cutting the edge solves that problem.

Remember to practice your cutting though!! Always use many new blades and try to avoid cutting through into the surface.
