As some of you know, I've been pretty quiet around here lately. Just finished this bike with Illfx last week or so...
Pretty straight graphics (yawn) but that's what the customer asked for. The blue is an Ultramarine (PPG Hot Wheels Blue Candy over fine silver) and the yellow orange has PPG's "emberglow" sparkly overcoat that flops from a hot orange to a lime green. I followed Steven's how to for a little engine turning action, but it didn't turn out (no pun intended) as well as I hoped as I had candied a little smoke colour over the top to give it a bit of punch. Lessons learned. Sigh.
Good show Lynne!..Can't go wrong with Blue and Yeller!...I'd like to see the assembled pics..(yeah I know, want, want:))..hehe would be cool to see though

I know its not art related but i'm proud to say I had a big hand in fabrication and assembly of this little hotrod, and since I just took some decent pictures of it yesterday, I thought I'd share a couple with ya'll......whatcha think?
The weather was nice enough that we took it for a spin.....I can tell you that it sounds better than you might imagine....and drives and rides even better than that......I think i'm still grinning from my ride.
PS.....I am not responsible for the paintjob or the flame job on this build....that was already contracted out to another painter before I had the opportunity to get involved.....but the next build that gets anything custom on it will be mine. :)

Everything is sweet!
Lynne the cycle pieces look like a Novelty! Novelty is the quality of being new, original, and different!
Sharon I just love airbrush on canvas!
egneg I've always been interested in RC items! Once as a kid I had gas plane that you flew with lines! This how much experience I got from it. It went straight up and straight down and I was done!
air_fx does that moped :080402cool_prv: have wheelie bars on it? It reminds me of a two wheel cycle with a huge V8 some English owns and drives across the pond! Seen the article in Popular Science or some magazine I was reading at the doctor's office!
Acrylic on foam core (24x36 cutout on 32x40). This is hanging in my twins' room.

I finally downloaded a load of stuff and put em in my files where they belong. Got side tracked today as I got sucked into helping paint condom dispensers. Yeah, you read it right.
The lionfish is an airbrush piece. The orange a gouache and oil (mixed media). The fireworks and coin piece are both gouache and ink.

Wow! Everyones been real busy this week and turning out some stunning work! Well, as most of you know, I was mucking around with that flag (ugh!!) the finished experiment is in the how to section. Meanwhile to relieve myself of all that stencil work, I played for an hour on this....

Just got a few pics of this one. Nissan Skyline, like in Fast and Furious. Done for a Tech school that uses it to recruit students. Painted the panels to look like carbon fiber.

We use shelf liner for the little squares. You can get different sizes depending on how you want it to look. It's usually used for lining the bottom of tool boxes and kitchen shelves. Home Depo, Lowes, any bigger home improvement place should have it. It is flexible and can be cut to fit. Comes about 2ftx10ft. I attached a pic of the material. Also, I just put up a series of pics on our site that follow the steps of the car but do not really focus on the carbon fiber part.
www.theairbrushguys.com ( in the latest project section.)
I have some more pics that follow the painting of the carbon fiber only, and will post them asap.
On a side note, can folks post video here? The entire process of the car was filmed and I could cut it up and post the carbon fiber part if that works.
Thanks,
TABG
