I have a friend in Idaho, he's an old school hot rod builder, semi retired now. I whipped up this mailbox and sent it to him today. Painted the body on Christmas, just hadn't had time to finish and clear it until today. Nothing special, but I though I would share anyhow.......:dog:

Nice looking mail box.
Good looking mail box Dog. Odd thing is, So. Cal., it is not recommended to put a name on the box. Numbers have to be on it but leave off the name for security. Shame to live like that but.....
Still your friend should be happy with that one. Doubt the neighbor has one like it.

Thanks Clem. I kinda thought about that, but he lives on Quandry Lane, in Oldtown Idaho, he has 3 neighbors, the lane is his own, he has 20 acres and everybody knows who he is. Not like in the city I think. Besides, if I know him, this will end up in his shop as a keepsake anyway, LOL....
It looked good before,,, the clear just put the "click" to it !!!
If he does use it as a mail box,,, it could slow the mail down
tho,,, by the postman stopping to admire the box:partyalone:

Whit, it was kind of an experiment. Its HOK colors but at work we coat all of our signs with Matthews MAP satin urethane, an excellent UV resistant paint. Just wanted to see how it worked on HOK, and didn't want a super glossy surface like UC-35 would give it. It worked nicely, I want to try in on some helmets next. Nice clear for satin....

Turn out great Dog! Did have to cut and buff with that satin that you used?

Thanks Len, not for a mailbox. Just 3 coats, last one full flow coat. Dry overnight, then scuff with 3M pad, same treatment (paint) the next day. Nice & protected, at work we have Satajets and boy, they (like all good tools) make a smooth flow coat so much easier....

I almost never use em, they are in daily use spraying our signs. I use a $ 69 mini gun in my garage more often than not, just wanted to try them out. I couldn't believe how nicely I could lay a flow coat down, smooth as a baby's backside, and I'm a newbie to laying down clear...
