I`m planning to pinstripe directly on a motorcycle gas tank.. no clear, just stright on a bare metal tank.. how does 1-shot react with gasoline if I should spill a little on the tank? Anyone got experience with that? :-)

I don't think gas will touch 1-shot after 90 days of curing! After 90 days you would most likely have to take the paint job down to bare metal to get rid of it! I use to curse the sign painters when I was in business 1-shot left an etching in the paint that would bleed back through even if all the color was gone when trying to cover it with primer, sealer, or paint! I had to sand the 1-shot area down to metal! I don't know if it has the same effect on factory or after market urethane paint or clear with a chemical hardener in it?

Buy some of the 1-Shot brand "hardener" if you can find it available....
Item # 4007....

Use it very sparingly, it will help your condition there and will cure the 1-Shot lettering enamel faster.....

Thanks JimmyG :-)

Is there any other brand of hardener that I can use? I have found a 1-shot dealer in Norway (I`m in Norway) and one in Sweden, but none of them have it in store right now.. and I`m supposed to start on the tank this week..

sparingly, is that the same as very little? :-)

Yes...In a pinch I have used hardener for automotive synthetic enamel.....
It is not recommended by 1-shot but will work....For sure do a series of tests (small cups) for drops amount to add.....You will know too much because it also sets off real fast drying time which you will see in your brush handling.....Back off from that point to a mid point in your test cup amounts....
Experiment with non OEM hardeners at your own risk....For proven results use only the 1-Shot brand hardener....

I use the method when spraying steel equipment with 1-Shot bulletin paints and oil base maintenance type enamels....It gives a very glossy and hard durable finish.....

Here's some links to 1-Shot made by Spraylat Corp.....

I very much agree, but.. Norway is a small country and selling 1-shot and stuff like that is not a big business over here, expensive to import and buy.. so I guess itīs expensive to have everything in store at all times..
