Has anyone here used the peak x-3? I ordered a couple yesterday and was wondering a few things. Does it spray without the cap, will the iwata triggers fit them?

Corey, very sorry, I have never used a Peak brush. I heard they were pretty good, just never have. I guess no one else here has either, LOL, not much help. Maybe once you give them a workout, you could inform us!

Hey whit. They came in today. Havent had a chance to shoot with them but I did disassemble one and checked out the innards.
1st thing I noticed is the trigger action is alittle sloppy. Kind of like the airvalve is way to stiff. This I will fix by taking it apart and destressing the spring. Next is the needle. It deffinately needs to be polished and lubed. This will be done with a little meguiers machine glaze .3 and some glyceran. Next we move to the trigger tension spring It has alot of drag so it will also need to be de burred and destressed if not replaced with a different spring. All this and I havent put a drop of paint through it yet.:(
Next is the trigger itself. iwata trigger does fit. So I will be changig that. I prefer a dimples trigger. That is all the modifying I will be doing to this one. The second one i have will be getting a complete overhaul. my brother inlaw is a super mechanical engineer and has made nozzles and matched needles for a few of my other guns and did some other upgrades to the airbrushes themselves. So he gets this one to fiddle with.
In a nutshell it iis what it is, a 49.00 dollar airbrush.
