Thanks for the great posts so far folks, we hope with all the new people coming on the forum, to have a good art & custom show here. Please feel free to repost any work you did this week, even if you already posted it in other threads. This is intended to be a kind of weekly focal point for all the weeks work, and will become a nice archive to visit both for inspiration and to measure your own progress. Thanks for participating, see you on Sunday!

Still haven't had time to do anything this week, all my spare time is being taken up with making fibreglass bumpers. Dug out some old artwork I had stuck in a folder and photo'd it, cleaned it up a little so what do you think(bear in mind its about ten years old though)

tomcat, that is the fun part. I have a post on a thread "blast from the past" I think, of a piece I did 26 years ago. It is a real legacy to revisit that stuff. If you can share, we would love to see it. Not everyone will produce something each week. But if you're even working on something, a WIP or sketch, feel free to share it!

Here's my WIP. I am not really happy with it so far as all the tiny little details are making me go cross-eyed. Dale Jr. is on the other side.

diehard, I really thought you pulled off a great job on the King Tut mask. Way better then I could do. What is even more impressive is that you did it without any gold paint! Others may have some critiquing advise, but I can't offer any if I feel that you did better than I could. Way to go :wink2:

Pepe, I think it looks great! Nice work, good detail. Steven, I will be lookin for the story behind the "nipple bite" guitar, can't wait to read that one!
Nothing from me this week, just too busy at work, tried to get in the shop yesterday, was too tired, it was cold, so no progress. I will be working on this today, but probably won't get it finished. Its my second attempt at a T-shirt painting.

Wow, awesome work, love the color skills, thanks ABK, this is an asset to the site. Folks, I applaud the great talent on here, so bring it, simple and starter stuff, to the big dogs like Steven C, Steve Driscoll, on and on. It is all lovely to share and enjoy! Cheers!

Here something I was playing around w/ last night......had to stop due to a few wobbily pops.
I have learned now not drink and airbrush:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Hehehe, wobbly pops! I call it "oh be joyful", lol..... I do it all the time. I figure, you can either drink, or airbrush, but since private time is scarce, what the heck, gotta "multitask", right? Thanks for posting, looks good so far!

This is a practice helmet (1st one for me) I have been messing around with. I epoxied a computer chip to the back. I was trying for a glowing effect with wires going in and out of the holes. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Egg..i really like that idea ya got there.....I can't tell ya how to get the effect you want...But have you studied a "lightning" effect?...I think the same principles would apply.......keep us posted

Egneg, looks good so far! Maybe a little color, like pagan kandy gold to give more of a glow effect? Test it first, I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, lol!
Not that this compares with what several of you posting but I did get something accomplished.
It took me a while to get things rounded up and to be able to get in the garage to finish it but this is what I got.
Wasn't to sure about the warning label so I went around it.

Clem, thanks for posting this, I love it! Somehow flames on a propane tank just works for me, lol. Keep up the good progress, looking good! BTW, this is for all, newbie and pro, to share and enjoy, its not a competition. Your work belongs here beside all who post.......trust me, on the other site, your work is ranking about middle of the pack, there are a lot that haven't a clue, but all should be encouraged, right?
I would not have thought it even middle of the pack. I have a lot to learn before I figure a placement in any of this. For myself it is personal enjoyment and seeing what I can do, not competition.
I see no reason for folks not to post and hopefully learning from others posts and comments. I think most of the time when posts are viewed, new thoughts for each individual viewing, crosses the mind for new ideas.
I do look for any comments good or bad on what I do. The way I understand it, this site was set up for encouragement of anyone willing to make the attempt.
Thanks to all contributing,
Clem

While it is not paint related yet here is what I did artistically today. When I get it finished I plan to paint it and do some type of graphic. maybe old school scallops or I am open to ideas. The fender is hand formed from 19 ga steel to fit around the clock tire.To give you a prospective the tire is 4" in diameter and the fender is 10" long. I still have a ways to go till it is finished but wanted to share.

ok...I'm posting a job I'm in the middle of, the graphic part is complete, and I'm ready to start shadow and hi light. Looks fairly ordinary at the moment though....
Clinton, Saint, I've had major problems re-masking AutoAir....reducing massively helps the paint lay flatter, therefore, better adhesion for masks...I need tips, product for an easier go of it. (and saner for me, swearing is becoming a way of life)...(that is, tips, or send wine, red please)
Thanks, Lynne

Tim, thanks for the great post! It is Kustom Kulture fabrication at its best, very cool stuff. Can't wait to see it in paint! I have no idea how to fabricate in metal, its very nice to see it in practice. You're gonna have to get together with Clem sometime, I think he has a forge!

Here is what I've worked on this weekend. Didn't get as much done as I wanted to and this is mainly because I spent time figuring out and drawing what to paint on the remainder of the door!!! Worked on various sketches but came up with this. I tried to keep it simple but still managed to throw in a few challenges. Found painting the main subject more fun!...this is getting long!:-(
Still have quite a bit of work to do, hope to get it finished by end of next weekend.

Thanks Scott,
The trick is to get the metal to realize you are smarter than it is. It would be nice to have a forge for some tool projects. Some day I wil lmake it to the left coast and maybe look up Clem while I am there..... I will post the clock when it is finished. just need to figure out what that finish will be
Just remember Tim, never force it. Just get a bigger hammer. Never had the chance to learn that much about sheet metal, now I'm trying to spray paint on it.
Maybe some time when I get back to Indy....

Thanks Luc, that is very encouraging. Just learning it, I agree with Denise, black T's are a study in patience. It is fun though. I will post when done.
Denise, there is a really moody feel to that work, I really like it, was it a commission or just for you? Very nice regardless.....
Whit, thanks for being Whit, don't sweat it friend, just enjoy......I would love it if you'd post some of your sign work, it is always great to look at.

Well All...first of all sorry for being so silent lately. Hopefully, I will get out of my funk soon.
I tried this today and then got called into work by the head ARSE!!! Came home later and lost the groove....started using my air brush like a spray can. LOL. I am going back down after posting, so if I get anywhere with it (Before the Dog locks the thread down) I will post the updated version.
