On Feb 7th, Scott (Blinddog99) died at Temple hospital.

As some of you are aware, he was fighting cancer...diagnosed as terminal last fall, and kept swinging anyway. He was a pistol, right the way through.
Please remember him with affection, as I do.

Sad news.
I hope the best for his family and friends.
Seems that it was just a few months ago he was talking about being diagnosed in the chat room.
It's scary how fast things can happen.

Thanks Lynne for the info! Its always sad when someone is over come by health! I think now ABT as a group or family if you will we should dedicate the Sign Forum on ABT to Scott in remembrance! Maybe put his avatar permanently on or in it! Just a thought!

He will be missed, it's alwas rough to lose a family member, the spot they hold in our memories cannot be replaced, or filled by someone else.
I think we should all honor his passing by avoiding the same potential problems or causes he faced. Try wearing a mask for a change, even if it is just watercolors or acrylics. Be careful in how you use and handle the solvents, maybe wear some gloves to protect ourselves. It would be sad if we learned nothing from those who have left us.

Robert, he was overcome by illness, not by health! LOL

Damn that pisses me off!!!!..........Scott...One of the 1st people that reached out to offer friendship..Such a Cool Cat, kind soul and all around great person....I wish we could have talked more through this whole thing..he wasn't around much and seemed to get kinda reclusive..Can't blame anyone in that position, I don't know how I'd deal with it!....Woulda been nice to talk more is all.

I propose we set his airospace up as a memorial..Denise, can you do that?...I'd like a place to go to remember him and all who go there will know we lost a great person and part of the family...Or maybe a new Airo page?....Just an idea.

Not Really much else to say . Other then Scott will be missed . & Thoughts & Prayers go out to all His family as well as His Family here. He was a great person & a real trooper as In Chat He said He likely wouldn,t make it till Christmas , When He broke the news to some of Us. & Made it passed that point .

I,ve had that Gut feeling for a lil while because He popped in early morning when I first get on, & haven,t seen Him logged in for a couple of weeks.
As far as A Memorial to Him, I,m with whatever Everyone else decides is right. Like the saying goes , They,re never really gone Untill They,re forgotten . RIP , Scott____Blinddog .

"May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand."

Sad news indeed! Scott R.I.P.

Looks like you guys have everything under control....unfortunately, I have no way of contacting his missus. Going through the partner with his business is a great idea.

God I'll miss him...he was outspoken, sarcastic, blunt, abrupt, funny, sweet, kind, and I regarded him as a true friend...although we had never met.

Please raise your glasses with me and toast this true character...god knows, we need more of em.

Should any of you take it upon yourselves to contact his wife...please, tread lightly. I know she was in serious denial about him passing, and he was battling her with what was necessary once he was gone. Let her know from a distance, and as tenderly as possible that he was loved and admired (as well as being a salty SOB on occasion - which is one of the reasons I liked him in the first place).

Well said everyone...Fraid I'm at a loss as what to say as well...Reading what you all write helps put words to my thoughts.

Denise I understand what you mean and totally agree...Would be nice to create an entirely new page for him...Where we can leave comments when and if anyone is so inclined.

Ok... here's what I know about Scott...

Did you know?

He was a gourmand (with a weakness for salmon), loved food, loved wine (with a particular fondness for reds).... loved "old school" rock and roll. He was a guy that could cook... and party with the best of em...so he told me. We used to talk (PM) about food and wine, and any number of sarcastic comments about this that and the other.

Please, share your personal memories of Scott... (if it's appropriate)

Oh how sad! I was pushing for him to win the fight. His passing reminds me of how lucky we are that we are still here. Please tell his family how much we all loved him, and that we will miss him.

Between you and cowboy, I now use a professional filter and a box fan and furnace filter. When I painted my car, I wore the paint suit, gloves, mask with filtration , and goggles. You two scared me into taking precautions.

Sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I didn't know him or of him since I am new to the site. I know that there are several charities for Cancer victims as I receive help from them. My heart is heavy knowing that someone else has gone on from this terrible disease. Prayers are with his family and friends.

Scott and I had a talk awhile back....I asked him for a favour that meant a lot to me.

He granted that request and said that he was humbled and honoured that I would want to do this for him.

I'll reveal it later....it means a lot to me that He allowed me to do it, and gave me the tools I needed.

Scott, my brother from a different mother!!!! I'll miss you...but you will always be with me!!!

The Dog's smiliey here!!!!

I was just wandering around Airospace....I always loved reading Scott's Blogs..Such a cool and "real" perspective on things.....I've read them all before, but just sat there and re read them...Kind of haunting in a way..But nice to "hear" his words at the same time.

I suggest for anyone who didn't know him to well to read his blogs...(if yall want anyway)..He tells some great stories and it's all a great read.

I deleted his IM link on my yahoo yesterday....that hurt. I still have a load of personal e-mails that I just can't look at, or let go...just yet.

He wanted me....us...to live life, be happy...embrace everything we want to...and not mourn him. He was upset that I was upset. I had asked him for notification from his missus should things turn south. (not an option) Good god, there was no time. If any of you have checked his last log in...it was the day before he died. Imagine if you will...the pain and suffering he was in, and he still CAME HERE. He still answered my e-mails until a few weeks before his death.

Many of you didn't really gel with Scott...for many different reasons. Some admin included. I admired and respected him for being what he was, a straight shooter, a non-conformist....
