Not much to report, but yesterday, I was trying to blow down some HOK Kandy Apple Red over a silver base, on a border piece I am doing. The stuff was from TPC and came pre-reduced. It blew down in chunks, would not mix and basically left me pissed off and dissatisfied with the result. I lightly sanded and thought, hell, lets give the X-Otic a try. Wow...... not a full review yet, but that candy came out clean, smooth and incredibly rich on pigment. I was blown away...... more of a full workout soon! I will try to give a more formal report, once I have given them more of a workout, but they look very promising...
Great !!!:partyalone:
Be sure and keep us updated !!!

I know Denise got some as well, so D, if you have a chance to lay some down, let us know what you think. I had problems with the white base, but I think it was stale reducer, so I will give it another chance on the weekend before making any judgements....

Steven, I suspect I just haven't found my "reduction window" on it. I couldn't get it to fineline, and it spit something aweful, I was using up some Kustom Shop 70º reducer. It works fine with the HOK, so I thought it would be ok. It was too thick and I think I overshot on the thinning, and it wouldn't hold a line. I have NOT given it a proper test yet, so no preconceived notions.
I'm kinda old school, with my HOK white base, I put some in a cup, add a drop of retarder, and reduce until it "looks good". Sorry, it works for me. Then I bottle it up and usually use it up within a week or so. I need to do the same thing with the Xotic white and I'm sure it'll be fine. Love the candees so far though!
