First off, I'm wondering if anyone has tried that "Nano-clear" from Innate http://innate.com/Paint/Chrome/nanoclear.htm
It looks interesting, but I haven't heard or read anything about it. Just wondering if anyone has personal expirience.
Secnd question (notice how I never have just one?). Where do you go or who do you talk to to get any local building codes/restrictions, etc for a spray booth? It's going to be used pretty much just for shooting clears and occasionally primers. I'm going to have a separate area for paint since I use water base, and it'd be cheaper in the long run to have them separate since the water base doesn't need nealy as much of an exhaust system, hence saving energy.

I haven't used Nates clear. I use PPG and HOK. If you ask Nate he is a real straight shooter. Buy a pint and check it out.
As far as codes, I think the best place to start is ask at the paint store. City inspector should be able to tell ya but I like to keep those kind away from me as much as possible. Fire marshall should also be able to tell ya. I would ask the paint store first. IMO, anytime an inspector visits you it's gonna cost. Then ya have to hang extingwuishers at 4' at every door with a sign pointing to it, blah blah blah. The list goes on.

No help on the clear Draggin , But I,d suggest staying away from any city inspectors & Dont even think about talking to the fire marshall . All They can do is tell You what you,ve done Wrong ( after its to late ) & make Yer life Miserable .
They should have a list of codes at Yer city building City Engineers (I Beleive ). But They will be codes for Commercial or heavy industrial only . If Yer in a Residential area or even near one . Do some more research on Yer own & do the best You can to stay within the safety commen sense rules. & Draw NO attention to Yerself . or Raise any red flags . I say all this from Experience .
& Never ever, ever tell the inspectors or fire marshalls ta mind there own Buisiness , Duh !! They got more power then the FBI . & Will never leave You alone. Sorry for the book , I just want Ya ta be carefull Who & what Ya ask for. Been there done that, I fought Them People for 5 years & They still shut Me down & I was 100% legit & up to code . good luck.
Never heard of the Clear, but hear great things about Innate.:D
Course ya know I'm in da Boonies, so my ordeal's probably way off from what yours would be...I talked to the Mayor of my Town at the Bar awhile back..Gettin good and drunk, see the Mayor sittin next to me...Asked him just what I needed to do to be legal and spray..Best part is our town is in the stone age..He said "no worries"...There aint a code/zone law around that can tell me not to spray anything....Good news for me, now if I can just get some Biz..LOL

Check this out. Not sure if it will help but worth a look. When I was checkin into building mine I think you could do it with drywall but you had to double layer it and split the seems. Metal, you have to use caulk in between each panel. Then you need safety glass and the list goes on.

transparant aluminium ! wasnt this stuff used on startrek to transport those humpback whales ?LOL
i can see a problem with polishing when a material is that hard so any runs dust or orange peel could present problems
ok if it went on perfect but everything in its favour could actualy be against it

true, but if it doesn't have a tendancy to get runs like some clears do (cough HOK cough.lol) Then that really isn't much of a problem.
I'll give it a try next time I'm clearing a batch and see how it goes.
true, but if it doesn't have a tendancy to get runs like some clears do
Ya got me curious here...tried a bunch of clears I have...Only time they run is if I get silly with spraying...Never seen one have a tendancy (<--I can't spell it either:D)
Some flow different, depending on the day and the mix..ya have to get used to how the brand handles...But to say one will run over another is a bit odd to me....No biggie..Just struck me odd and thought I'd throw pennies at ya..hahaha!

Hey man, no need to be throwin pennies around. lol.
No, I was only being half serious there. I have yet to master the art of clear coating without getting runs, drips, sags, and nibs all over, but I've noticed that the X-otic clears work alot better for me than UC-35. They just seem to be more forgiving as far as temp ranges, humidity, and overall lack of skill are concerned.
Nickels are the ones ya gotta watch out for:D
K got yer vibe now..LOL, Yup I've noticed some more forgiving on mix ratios and all that fun stuff....I think Omni is the easiest I've found to play with..
