hey all
wasnt sure were to post this but i do have general questions about the iwata
revolution
i have added an ebay link of an exact model
1) its a fairly cheap AB but made by a good company is it a solid unit

2) how fine can you spray with it ??? can the endcap be removed to get a finer spray?
as i have been toying around with getting an iwata and this currently fits my price level 100 cdn or should i just hang on to my money and continue using my badger (if its comparable) and save up some more cash and get a better iwata---would love to have the micron kustom but mrs jerseycrazee would have my unmentionables ripped clean off<<<OUCHERS!
but i can slide the revolution by her without her even knowing..hehe
anyhoo
please chime in as i am hitting the hobby store tomorrow to get the true fire dvd (i hope its in ) and if this iwata is anyweres decent i was going to grab it too

Really good brush for the money, very close to the Eclipse line but with a threaded nozzle. This is a .5 tip/needle so it will spray fairly fine but not super fine, should be good for the level you are at right now. I have one for myself and my daughter as well as a BR of the Revolution line which is a .3 tip/needle combo. Have about 7 other Iwatas but for the most part I use the Eclipse and revolutions the most as I spray mostly Acrylic. Hope that helps you out.

thanks clinton for the info
being a tradsman i understand you have to have good tools to do a good job
and im sure this is a huge upgrade from what i am currently using ...the gravity feed guns are a way easier to clean so that in itself will be a bonus
so i am leaning towards it

When I bought mine I really didnt expect much because as you say it is cheap for an Iwata. I was plesantly suprised as it has all the quality I expect form Iwata, I will concur it will do almost as fine a line as the eclipse c which has a slightly smaller .35 nozzle. You can unscrew the cap to allow for finer lines. I use mine mainly for initial roughing in of freehand work (undercoat) and doing things like candy washes on tru fire and fades on flame jobs. It also works well for ghost flames as you can spray away from the masking and not get a high tape edge. I consider it an important tool in my arsenal. I have 5 brushes on my stand that I use most often An eclipse sbc autographic, hpc, hpb and eclipse c. along with the revolution. If you decide to buy one I dont think you will regret it.AL

Thought i'd get back to one this Ron, the Charlie Chaplin on denim I painted was done with the revolution BR. It does the same fine detail the HPC does and can spray a fairly wide line. I had to polish the needle a bit and lube/polish the trigger to get the sam e feel as the HPC but it will spray almost exactly the same with a few minutes of polishing lubing. The one thing I liked better about this brush than the HP series is like the Eclipse the body is round with no air passage under the front. It makes for a nicer feel over all and my middle finger doesn't get the numb feeling after 3 hours of ab time. Just my opiinion though.:wink2:
