Here is an example of what can happen if you do not take the proper time to clean a surface prior to striping. This is on a practice panel fortunately.

soon after i had pulled this line I noticed what looked like a smear. I was sure I had not put a finger there. Upon a closer look I realized that the paint had migrated into the ridges of a finger print left on the panel.
below is the panel. Color choice reflects Spring in Michigan.........Chamois, Tan, and Med. Brown the colors I see out the window
