Here is an example of what can happen if you do not take the proper time to clean a surface prior to striping. This is on a practice panel fortunately.

soon after i had pulled this line I noticed what looked like a smear. I was sure I had not put a finger there. Upon a closer look I realized that the paint had migrated into the ridges of a finger print left on the panel.

below is the panel. Color choice reflects Spring in Michigan.........Chamois, Tan, and Med. Brown the colors I see out the window

I had never had that happen before. I guess that is a good reason to continue to practice practice always learnin' something new......

hehehe...Funny, Painting has cleaned me up more than ever...Most days hell, I use my hands why wash em..LOL....But come paint time...I'm like OCD with it, soaping up for surgery er something:D

Nice piece! Sorry for the "smear" though. But thanks fer sharing a lesson learned the hardway! SOmetimes those are the best lessons!
