I am wondering if the compressor that I have will be enough to fill a tank. I have a 1/10 horse cheap 90 dollar compressor that maybe pushes 30 psi. It's linda noisy, but not as much as the little campel housfeld. It's a 1 gallon pancake style. What I want to figure out is if the little compressor will have enough pressue to fill the tank to get more psi to work with. I would wire up the pressure shut-off switch to the on/off so whenit gets to the 100psi that the switch is rated at. Does anyone have any idea if this will work. And also, what type of freezer/fridge compressor is used for the homemade ones? Please help!!

If the compressor can only put out 30 psi then it will only put out 30 psi into a tank! If a person sets an air compressor at 30 psi and then fills a tire they will only get 30 psi in the tire. No more than that! If you want an air compressor to fill a tank to 100 psi then you must have a compressor that can put out 100 psi!

Since that will not be enough pressure to fill it, what kind of those fridge or freezer compressors could I use? Is there a specific style or brand? What does it look like? I haven access to a lot of them.

Don't know about those (???) Maybe a compressor from an air conditioner!

Check this. Nice and very cheap way of making a good compressor:

I used a setup like this for a time, and it was very good. Problem was only that I wanted to have something more portable, and started using CO2 instead.
