Ok it looks like I will be painting or stenciling our command name and some other info mostly all lettering on them in black E"TAC paint. The color of the shirts will vary. White, red, brown, and green. I need to know if besides pre washing what other prep work do I need to do so the shirts will last as long as possible and look professional? Please tell me what you can.

Hey Ponder, good to see you on the forum. Scroll down to "first attempt at fabric - flame the Blind dog", I pulled and prodded and got a ton of good information. Most of what you need is in that thread......

ok well last night I busted out about 22 shirts. I requested that the shirts be pre washed and Ironed in the areas to be painted. I only have room to do one shirt at a time. I slightly strech out the shirt on a giant clip board I bought and do a quich iron in the first area to be painted. While the cloth is still hot I apply the stencil and shoot with extendair. I brought a mini blow dryer so I use it to quick dry and only spend about 1 minute with the heat then I switch off to black. It takes about 3 minutes to shoot and then I do a quick dry with the blow dryer and then prep the other 2 areas and repeat. I hang the shirts to dry some and then start the next. once I have finished however many shirts I wanted to do. I clean up and then take a pillow case and Iron over all of the shirts. I spent about 4 hours last night and feel i did pretty good. I am not getting paid to do these shirts. however the command will pay for the paint I use. It is practice and our command jersies look much better than other commands. Once people start asking me to so multi colored I will have to ask for a small feel. a buck or two maybe. I have yet to see how well the color holds up in a navy washing machine but I will let you know. As far as how the E'TAC black paint sprays I really like it. No problems.

As soon as I get the chance I will take a picture and show you how simple they really are. nothing t5o brag about on my part.

Ive never used a hair dryer to do the final heatset on a shirt. I use an iron set at the highest setting and a teflon sheet. It may seem like alotta work for 200 shirts but at least you know there set.

Henry,
He is using a hair dryer to dry the paint.
