Thanks Whit. Those are the comments that have kept me going for as long as I have. I get the biggest reward from teaching classes and passing on what I have learned along the way. I will post as often as I can and will answer any questions that are asked. I don't have ANY secrets about airbrushing.

Thanks again, Steve.

Well lookie lookie... Hey Steve...former Getaway Junkie here, although, alas...never been in your class. I was always in Cacy's class. (don't hate me) How's bowling? Great to have you on here, man...really.

I could never hate one of the Michael Cacy posse. It's nice to see you again. You know what I mean. As for bowling, I haven't been able to schedule my way out of the studio for the Getaways for the last couple of times. Too busy. But, I should be there in March if everything stays as is. Keep in touch.

Steve.

Excellent...although, I can't afford em anymore. (outta work Monday) I was gonna roll out to Bermuda and hang with Cacy on the rock, do a workshop there...but unless big money falls from the sky...nope...will be doing a 'remote' workshop. (whine whine whine) Didn't you go to the Air Affair?
I still love your flesh formula's better than Cacy's, lol. Works much better for me. I see you're still in Minn, kinda surprised about that.
Freakin cold, isn't hon?

I was born and raised in Northern MN so the winters here in Minneapolis are pretty tame from what I grew up with. I'm a cool weather person anyway. As soon as it gets above 70 I start to melt. Have fun with Michael and tell him I said hi the next time you talk to him.

Steve, welcome to our little forum. Hope you like it here & stick around, I am a big fan of your work. I usually work automotive and am learning to paint fabric as I speak. I planned on watching one of your videos later tonight, LOL.

If I might be so bold, we have started a Sunday Art & Kustom show. Feel free to drop by (further down the forum) and post something for the show!

Wow, Driscoll is in the house, dang.....

Steve, I will certainly do that. I think he's freezin his butt off in Maryland right now though, doing some photo shoot. Aw. (fake sympathy)
So glad to see you here, really. Any chance of posting your flesh formulas? I have em on the other computer, I think...but didn't post in fear of getting my butt shot off. It's not mine to share.

I attended one of your seminars a while back (Virginia Beach) and learned about your shading mix which I have used ever since. I highly recommend Steve's seminars/classes to anyone that gets a chance to go - well worth the money.

Hey Steve, have you been in contact with Pat Krueger ?
It seems to me that you two live pretty close to one another?
I know that she told me a while back that that was the case.

She'll get ya in on painting one of those buffalo sculptures that they auction off out there.

Welcome to the forum!

Hello Steve,
I am glad to see you here, I have heard many things about you and honestly not one of them negative. I wanted to thank you for responding to the e-mail I sent you . ( I sent you another one BTW ) lol. I am really looking forward to seeing what you post. I had been unable to decide what kind of airbrushing I wanted to do all the way up until I went to your site and saw some of your work. I really want to learn to do portraits, as far as what surface I do them on that is still up in the air. But if I can learn how to do it I don't think I will really care what I put them on. Thank you once again and I look forward to hearing from you either here on via e-mail.

Very Respectfully,

JC

Thanks JC,
Thanks for the kind words and the inspiration. I can tell you one thing about the different surfaces that I work on. They all have something good and something bad about them. Canvas acceptc the paint well but has a texture that doesn't do well with smooth looking subject matter. Ill. board has a nice smooth surface and erases nicely but doesn't accept the paint too well. It has a tendancy to run paint if you're not careful. T-shirts are fun and pretty easy to paint on but you can't get as much detail as with a smooth surface. Metal is smooth, is easily painted with automotive paints, but you can't erase the white on it. You have to use opaque white for your highlights.

There's my 2 cents worth, good luck, Steve.

Steve,
JC wrote the following to me earlier today, and I don't know how to answer him... Help!
Lynne

Ok then here is another question, from what I have heard there are 4 DVD's he has out, One is T-Shirt Portraits I and T- Shirt Portraits II, then Basic Portrait Techniques and Advanced Portrait techniques, Should I try to buy all 4? Or will I get pretty much the same info on just 2 of them. Either way is fine by me...

PonderThis
02-04-2007, 02:28 AM
I know it sounds kind of suck up ish but if you honestly say I can get allot more by getting all 4 then , that is what I will do. That is as soon as I hear back from you on my last e-mail.
Thanks for your time and input.

JC

Hey JC,

I think the T-shirt videos are not what you are looking for. The two portrait dvdsare both good just a little different. The beginning dvd has each part of the portrait broken down into different parts and excersizes to help figure the eyes, hair, teeth, skin etc. The second dvd does a complete portrait from start to finish. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can answer anything else.

Steve.
