Well guys, as you may have heard already in another couple of threads around the forum, I just got back from Edmonton and the 5th annual Airbrush Bash featuring Crosseyed's Blake McCully and Ron Gibbs...but here goes another one!

Just wanted you all to know the caliber of talent you have posting work here on this forum. Ron is an amazing individual, and more down to earth than ANY other artist in the media eye that I have ever had the priviledge to meet. And when it comes to talent...holy CRAP can this boy lay down the lines!! The hoods he did for the show and the flames...un real (Oh and he's also not a bad airbrusher as well, heh heh wait till you see the skull panel he did on the weekend...blow your minds)

Anyway, next time you see a CdnRatfink post, just remember that behind whatever gem of knowledge he shares with ya, is a great guy who made a BIG impact in my art life...and I'm sure countless others. If you get a chnce to meet him in person..make sure you take it!

no I haven't seen the price .....gonna have to check it out.

Cross-eyed had plenty of great things to say about Fraser, and Beej is top notch as well.......... so not knowing the price makes it hard to say if it's worth it.........but man oh man you can't imagine the knowledge and drive you will walk away with.

it's not that often you get that kind of chance though........

The thing about the "Top Guns" is the Top Gun status came as an afterthought,,
they all started with their work/art in mind and determination to excell
in their chosen field,, then,, one day,, after they've paid their dues,, they
become an "overnight" success,, and spring on the scene as a "Top Gun",,,
but that was not the goal in the beginning,, it was personal satisfaction
in their work that got them there,, to do the best they could do till it met
their expectations,, customers were neccessary to pay the bills and give
the "Ohhs & Ahhs" required to keep on keeping on in their field !!!
Most are just average Joe's,, that pursued their desires in this field,,
and until the ego takes over,, they're still average Joe's,, when you get
the opprotunity to know them,, but there lies the rub,, because as we all
know,,, "friends" are plentiful when they want something,,, and the bigger
the "Name",, the more "friends" are around !!!
As a result,, to keep it on a professional level,, seminars/bashes/etc are
made available with the "Top Guns" as drawing cards for the up'n comers !!
Guess this could be a book if not careful,, so I'll end it here,,,
Bottom Line,,, just do what you do,, be true to yourself,, and one day,, in
the future,, after you've paid your dues,, you too may be a "Top Gun" !!!

Nicely put Eliz..I'm always a fan of food for thought on da plate:)...Around here, (my Town)...Things are pretty black and white..Yer right or wrong yer a loser or winner..Not much room for in between in mosts eyes..LOL...I like to look at all angles, sometimes I'm good at it, sometimes I just can't see.....Taking the time to offer perspectives such as you have, helps clear the clouds so to speak:D...Thanks for that!

Man thats awesfully nice words Guys!I'm really humbled. You know we "Top Guns"really are just artists and regular joes that love doing art, custom paint .Thing is we are fortunate enough that through different events we get the opportunity to share and teach what has taken us many years to learn .Educating and showing through hands on demos is a great way to pass on some of those invaluable tips and gives you the opprotunity to see hands on how we do things as we do it with your own eyes.I meet some great people and artists in my travels and I take in so much from them that makes me a better artist and person too.I think its great to talk shop but we also strike up a lot of friendships .We all have a lot of common intrests ,I'm a sports nut,I'm a Nascar nut,I love anything racing, automotive,Hot Rod,Custom Car ,Trucks ,Rat Fink and I'm a collector ,memorabillia, diecast bla bla.I played Baseball,Hockey,Football etc all my life.My art was an extension of me.All I'm trying to say is we custom painter/airbrush artists are pretty much regular people and are usually quite approachable and willing to share.
By the way the guys in E Town are first class and I wish I had more time to hang out.
Heres a couple more pics to add.
Ron.
