Hahaha, now I'm confused! lol
I usually play with the pics on my pc, lookin for the best position. If I don't like the layout I change it, till i'm satisfied. Then I print that out for rev.
I tend to do a digital rendering using Photoshop and Illustrator first and throw designs around to 'theme' the bike.. then, as Dutch said, I print it out for reference.
i tend to just go with what i see in ma head, but were all different, if you can see something in your head go for it..:party-smiley-052:

Trust your logic man. If you are riding down the road and your bike catches fire, which way will the flames be going as you fly down the road screaming bloody hell? Toward the rear of the bike.

Yip gotta flow front to back, the only other option woulda been if the design was all the flames lickin up, as if the bike was on fire standing there, but on a bike you are not gonna get a great effect, so you need longish flows to look good, so thats flamin back the way from the front.

Here is a real trick for ya! The fire has certain amount of its on force! Paint the flames toward the back with a few licks of fire trying to defy the proper motion that they should be burning! Ya see fire doesn't always burn the direction of the wind! Have ya ever burned leaves in the fall on a windy day! If ya start the fire at the end of the pile that the winds is blowing they will still burn against the wind defying the natural state of the elements! So no fire doesn't always just burn with the direction of the wind or in this case vehicle movement!

Sorry to hear mate. You'll get it soon though, you have the skills. I know practicing is a b!tch, i'm there every day. But it does'nt matter really if the 2 sides look diffrent right? I mean...if someone walks around it, they'll never be able to look @ both sides @ the same time..
