Any suggestions where I might source turbo parts, I need the top shaft bearing, which is a tiny grub screw with a conical section cut out inside which fits over the power wheel, so "bearing" is a curious description, however, I can get it from a supplier in the UK I know of in Sussex, it will cost £15, or $30 for the bit and another £5 for the ship, which seems a bit extreme, for a grub screw,:(
So I was just wondering if there are any other alternatives.
Just for the curious, I acquired a turbo recently, and it was jammed up, I took it apart, and all was well until these bearings, I freed off the bottom one, and doused the threads with valve oil, (for trumpets, trombones etc, contains PTFE, doesn't gum up or evaporate, very slick) but despite soaking in wd40 and other persuasions the top one did not come easily, when it did, the screw insert for the driver is mashed up, I suppose I could file it, and dress it up, then temper it, but i thought a new one would be the best course, hence the question.
thank you in advance,
JonO
