If a customer wanted you to do a flat black paint job on a bike how would you do it?
My steps would go like this
Normal Prep
Black Base
Clear with a flattening agent
Best way to go right?
I'm arguing with people here.
Not customers.

Exactly how I would do it, that's how I did my last one.

I want to try some "tactile" clear, no flattener, but my concern is, it must be a perfect spray, you can't sand it smooth or clean, so you gotta do it perfect. Still, the coating is kinda cool, if one has the skill to apply it (not me yet).

Dupont Hot Hues offers a flat "Hot Rod Black". I believe it requires no special prep and does not show fingerprints or stains like a flat black primer does.
