Here is a portrait I did on a shirt as a color study for a canvas piece I did a while back. If any would like to see a step-by-step photo set there is one on my website at www.stevedriscollcustoms.com Just go into the gallery and hit the Clint Eastwood photo and you'll get right to it.

I added some of the step by step photos also on 1-24-07

This image was all done freehand. It was painted with Medea textile paints and a Thayer and Chandler Vega 2000. I used the Vega before Badger "bought" them out. I would never use one now though. The colors were made more transparent using transparent extender. About 50 50 with the colors.

Thanks for posting Steve. Great admirer of your work.

I constantly use your work as a reference and your DVD's and various book articles have been very instrumental in my airbrush progression.

With respect to the Vega 2000 airbrushes, I bought a couple last summer thinking that they would be great for T-Shirt work....big mistake...I have used them for less than 5 minutes!!!

If I had stuck with them, I would not be where I am today!...and I am sure of that. I know the airbrush does not make the painting but working with GOOD equipment does help speed things to a certain extent...at least in my opinion...it sure did for me.

Thanks again.

Luc

Luc,

Thanks for the encouragement. I stopped using the Vega 2000 when Cal Peterson lost his company to Badger. The gun was great in the early years but when Cal was gone so was my opinion of the gun. It's a long story. I'll tell you about the whole soap opera some time when you have time to read for a couple of hours. Anyway, it is flattering to know I was able to help someone of your talent . I enjoy your work a great deal. Keep in touch and keep producing the killer work.

All the best, Steve.
