This is from the 70's but holds tru still !!!
This was on an Europa (don't see much today)
but needed wheel flares (fender) and none
existed at that time,,, so,,, custom built !!!
First,,, mark and cut wheel openings to desired
opening,,, here comes the trick,,,
Take an innertube (don't see those much either)
and insert into wheel opening,,, inflate !!!
The inner tube gives theradius you need and
balloons outside the opening with a nice taper !!!
Simply lay your glass/matt/resins over the innertube
and adhere to surface,,, let cure a bit,,, then
simply let the air out of the innertube and your
wheelwell is done all but the finishing of the glass !!!
A lil grinding,,, a lil putty,,, a lil sanding/primer
and ready for paint !!!
One of a kind custom wheelwells (flares) !!!
Glass is a medium that you can build whatever is
needed and come up with your own custom designs
be it flares,,, scoops,,, you name it !!!
This post here just shows the easy way of a flare !!!
Oh,,, BTW,,, this was a truck innertube (large) !!!

After paintwork,,,,,
Yellow with gold highlites around lines
finished with gold murano pearl in clearcoat
and finished off with gold pinstriping !!!
For the 70's,,, an eye catcher !!!
Oh,,, these were not the wheels it ended up with !!!

Brings back memories Whit! I mixed up a tad bit of body plastic to stick and hold the piece on! Then start glassing it and when I got to the body filler I just ground it off and kept on glassing! The body filler sets up much quicker than glass resin!

I made my pieces first which is different than what you did!
