This is something I have never tried before but that drum looks like it was painted by a pro. Very nice, I like the colour blending and how it all flows. Are you going to paint the whole kit?

Josie,
Fire is one of the toughest things I've ever done. Lol, how can something so purely organic be so difficult to capture? Will be posting my stuff later in the week...I didn't like my first 5 or so attempts, and I'm still not satisfied with it. (sorry, I'm new to the group...just looked at the date of this posting and I'm WAAY behind here....you've probably got it down pat by now)

Hi Josie
The drums look excellent and I think you've managed to capture fire pretty well. I'd be pretty pleased with myself if they were my drums.
I've only tried tru-flame on a couple of jobs so far and whilst the second was far better than the first, I still have a long way to go in developing the technique. The only way to improve is to keep on doing them, I believe. The more you spend time rendering flames, the more you get a feel for the shapes and how they merge together. Can't wait to see the next ones you do :)
Can you direct me towards what you did to get the thumbnails onto your post? I've searched the site and haven't found anything relevant yet.
Thanks
