Couldn't help but wonder what everyone uses for their personal use (this forum for example) and/or what they use for graphics use, and if any use both. I have been a Mac guy for 23 years, so I guess I was curious if anyone else uses Mac's rather than PeeCees?
In my business, we have 26 Macs and 5 PC's, 3 Dell, one HP and one custom made for my bean counters. Being stubborn, I wanted all Macs, but the best RIP system was PC based, and the accountant & bookkeeper insisted. I guess I just never like the Windows interface much.......
Always been a Pee Cee user here,,, but
haven't been in it but a few years now !!!
Strange,,, always thought about mac as
a lefthanded machine for some reason !!!
I learned on a PC and just stuck with it !!!

Same for me Whit, the time came, back in 83, had to buy a computer for typesetting. It was a pioneering time. I got an Apple Lisa actually, a forerunner of the Mac. It was hooked to a Linotronic Photosetter about the size of a VW microbus, and output lines and type on photo paper. I got so used to giving demos I was actually called many times by Apple support way back then, was funny. If I didn't know I would call them, if they didn't know, they would call me.
I guess it just stuck, was a fun time.
Remember, Macs speak english, much more intuitive to use.....

BTW, if you haven't already, would you go back to the old forum and grab that woodgrain piece you did? I didn't get a chance to respond, but that rocked! Are you a sign guy by trade?

MAC G5 here Blinddog!!!!! I alway had been PC before getting married. Now with the mac....wifey is a Teacher so we got a Mac for our home computer. I have heard that Macs blow Pc's out of the water concerning graphics but I haven't done any of that yet. I have been thinking of getting AI since by buddy 3 months ago got a plotter cutter. Man does that thing beat using an ex-zacto. I may get a cutter, just have to see what happens in the future. I will say going from a PC to a Mac was a pain in the butt, and right know at work I find myself trying to use key stroke commands on the PC that I use for the Mac at home.:wink2:
I don't do enough graphics to need a Mac. Learned on a PC and do ok for myself. No real high end stuff. Rebuilt this on about six months ago, third rebuild for this machine. I only put in what I need and lots of memory. Memory makes the biggest difference for the money.
Three other people in the house use this machine so I have got to where I am on my laptop most of the time. Low end with added memory. Not to bad.

Heck all computers are just tools, if it gets the job done, it is cool. Funny, we are now beginning to get new Macs at my business and they are Intel based, some of them run Windows better than an average PC. The worm turns...... I was just curious what folks are using for their PC needs.
Its like my big brother, who is a national corvette racing guy says "there are good sports cars and better sports cars, but there really isn't any bad sports cars."
