I'm schemeing....again. Is there a clear coat that can be used in and around say...backsplashes in a kitchen? It's got to stand up to being washed down, etc.
Thanks!
Satin finish urethane,,, from wallyworld !!!
Washable,, but,, would have to do complete

Here's a system designed for counter tops. It's a 3 part system but the final part is clear coat and it can be bought seperate. I was going to redo my kitchen with it but opted for ceramic tiles intead, but it look like it would work really well. http://www.usehickson.com/StoneMason/DecorativeCoatings/EZStone_FAQ.shtml Hope that helps you out.

non catalyzed clear Saint? I'm worried about toxic stuff in the kitchen, as in not food grade.
What am I gonna put on it, no clue. I'm letting it fester in my head right now.
But I have to put something up for a backsplash in the kitchen, originally I was going to do mosaic, but it's too time consuming, and the materials too expensive.

You could even brush that on so you don't have the environment poluted....or your cats!
Maybe paint and clear as usual, Velcro tabs in corners and Plexiglas over top. Pull it off and wash, replace.
I don't always hit the trashcan. Keeps it clean there.

Sounds like an interesting project... I will have to make a point to stalk your thread to see what you come up with.

Sure Laura! Stalk away. With sign blanks being inexpensive...or even painting on the back side of plexi...I'm looking for an attractive alternative to tile or stainless steel (like Ikea). ah....wait, what about die ground metal panels...I'm not talking all wild...but rather taped off, or ground in a tile like pattern, kandied with something appropriate, and cleared.
