I just got a new iwata eclipse hp-cs
is it normal for the paint to splatter when you end a stroke with the air off(needle inside the ab)? Or when you pull the needle in with no air and when it comes out theres so much paint on the tip that it blows off when you go to paint again. I always forget to fix it then it ends up ruining my project. (eventually theres over spray everywhere)

Also when I use hok white base it seems to splatter no matter what...but I guess that's a problem with the paint. I bought it premixed.

thats a common pitfall. The fix is to essentially keep the air on at all times if possible. Otherwise, make sure that you start the air THEN point the airbrush at the substrate.
When finishing a stroke, keep the air on until well after the paint is shut off. This helps with tip dry, and helps prevent the splatter when you start the air again.
Watch your needle for build up. Eventually you'll be able to hear the change in airflow and know when you have to pick the dried paint off the needle.

White paints are notorious for tip dry, no matter what brand you use. I think it has to do with the ti oxide they use as the pigment, but I'm sure one of the paint experts will correct me if I'm wrong.
For learning purposes, it might be easier to get a different color so that you can concentrate on the basics instead of fighting the tip dry, and leave conquering white paint and tip dry for once you have the basics down pat.
