Nice job Whit! So you can do just about anything when it comes to paint!!!!!? Do ya have a pic of the side with the flag? Thanks for posting that. Clem was trying to do a hard hat a while back. I hope he sees this. Maybe you can help him out.

Thanks Whit! looks good! I may have to try pin striping some day. More toys to buy;) I'll Pm Clem and make sure that he sees this!!! I think he was trying to do one for his son and was having problems with the splatter effect for stone sticking, even after applying bull dog to it.

Looks real good Whit. The one I did just wouldn't hold paint. Kinda waiting for my nephew to bring it back so I can re do it. Denise talked to some one that mentioned I may need to heat it up. I mentioned I may have to put it in the forge and my nephew started to look worried.

Clem,,,
just a thought,,, but,,,
I did a (little league) batting helmet awhile back
with just using Krylon Fusion rattle can white
as an underbase and it held great !!!
All colors and fancy stuff were put on top of
the rattle can base !!!
Cleared with a two stage but the base held fine !!!

I tried fusion and bulldog. What I didn't try was some stuff Steven suggested by DuPont. It is in larger quantity than I would use or need at this point. Soft plastic like a scull cap. Peels off the brim but not the rest of the hat. Very discouraging. Like I mentioned earlier, when it comes back I,ll heat it some before spraying primer. Something will have to work.

Thanks

Clem

Nice hat There Whit . & Clem , some hard hats use some kinda mold release agents that are impossible ta remove. I aint sure what They are, But Nuthin will stick to Em, Then the next one Ya might not have a problem. The Forge Might be a great idea, Lmao.
