the 175 was my first airbrush. I'd definitely recommend it. It's not too pricey, very durable, and actually works pretty well. I had problems with the .3 nozzle/needle set clogging quite a bit, but I was using the "old" forumla Auto Air, which is/was notorious for spraying problems. I'm sure with the better paints out there that wouldn't be a problem.
I still use my 175 with the .7 tip in it, mainly for applying Pol'E (a water based inter-coat clear type thing made by E'Tac). I don't think I've cleaned that thing in 6 months, and it still sprays.
If I remember right, I did a write up in the "reviews" section (look along the top of the page for the link).

funny thing, I got and use 2.
with IDENTICAL needles in each, they will NOT spray the same.
so-get used to YOUR guns quirks first off.

I've only heard good things about the Badger Crescendo! My advise is use it until you out grow it or you can't get it to do want ya want!

It's all progress Joe...when you log in, check the "remember me" box and you won't have to log out when you leave....The forum will come up where you left off.....
Explore the "Today's Posts" or "New Posts" buttons on the bar at top depending on what forum "skin" you are using.....
You will find those buttons are there for navigation comfort....

Actually I wouldn't mind trying the Badger 175 Cresendo myself, sounds like the brush will take some abuse and keep on sprayin'.....Somebody send me one and I will test it....

there no micron, thats for sure. You might be able to get some pretty good detail with one, but it's like using a sledgehammer to do a scalpels job.
For a first brush, though, I think it's at least equal to a Paasche. It'll take ALOT of abuse, and the parts are built nice a sturdy and not so tiny like on most other ab's. The only time I've had to replace anything was when I dropped it onto a concrete floor with the back cap off and bent the needle chuck. It was a cheap way to learn a very valuable lesson- DONT DROP THE AIRBRUSH. lol.

funny you mention that.. I bought after reading here a highly recommended Iwata, just to get a finer line.. using MY paints, etc, it sprayed far worse FOR ME, than the 175 did. I immediately traded it off thru the group here..
to ME, a LOT depends on the end user..
